America for War

By Roy Klienwachter The Americans themselves billed the vote for now President George Bush in the US as a vote for war. Politics is the highest form of spirituality. It is spirituality demonstrated in physical form. Political leaders are voted in because they represent the majority vote. Therefore, Bush represents the thoughts of the majority of Americans. It would seem logical then to say that more than 50% of Americans are in favour of war. History would also demonstrate this. The US is seen around the world as a warring nation. Arguments or differences of opinion then are settled by violence. It is not that the US does not try to get what they want by peaceful means; it simply means that they do not know how to do it. Violence should never be an option, if it is; it is because it is in the thought process already. Every issue has a peaceful solution if the parties in question have the desire to settle it that way. It is a physical reflection of their state of awareness and spiritual enlightenment. Our neighbours are a God fearing nation, mostly Christian, “In God we Trust.” Bush acknowledges that he is a Christian and uses that awareness to further his war agenda. If the most powerful man in the world representing the majority of his country sponsors war, it is because his country and his religion support it as well. This has a lot to say about Christianity. Christianity throughout history has sponsored war. The Christian God himself declares war on his enemies according to his holy scriptures. In history this God has be made responsible for countless wars, an eye for and eye. The bible is filled with stories of war. Being God “fearing,” alone is enough to fester thoughts of violence and war in anyone. Throughout Christianity, this image of a vengeful God has been used to try and instill peace in his followers. Christianity has used violence to try to create peace. Holy wars are a record in our history. It has not been effective. Christianity has not brought peace on earth. There is only a promise of peace once Jesus returns and his followers are taken up. All religions will fail if they do not keep up with the natural evolution of man. Religion is the result of man not the other way around. Repeating a process over and over again that does not give you what you desire is not a great way to display wisdom. Wisdom comes from using knowledge to create something that does work. If you keep hitting your thumb with a hammer thinking that it is eventually going to feel good, how does that sit with the notion of wisdom or enlightenment? How does violence ever turn into long time peace? Historically it does not. Violence begets violence and if a peaceful solution is not created it smolders and festers till it raises its ugly head once more. If a nation and its people are peace lovers then their politics will reflect that view. This is not a comment on the American people it is simply an observation. The majority has spoken in two consecutive elections. George Bush has always been pro war and the majority of the country supports his views. What does this all mean for their closest neighbour Canada or in fact the rest of the world? It means absolutely nothing unless the world buys into the notion that the US is a warring nation. If the world supports that belief, then the world will join in on war. The countries that support peace will only think about peace and not about war or about how to stop or prevent war. War will not go away by stopping it. Peace will manifest itself with thoughts of peace. Be for peace, not against war. Do not give war any energy by thinking about it. Always consider peace as the only solution to any issue and you will never be for violence. Other countries can identify with the US as a warring nation by polarizing their thoughts. You cannot say you are for peace unless you know that someone else is for war. You cannot have peace unless you have war. If peace is all there is, then there is no peace. Peace is the opposite of war. Someone has to be at war so that you can be at peace. We live in a relative world of opposites. We must acknowledge war in order to acknowledge peace. At some time we must experience war to experience peace. We do not however have to repeatedly experience war to experience peace. We learn from past mistakes and the memory or acknowledgement of it prevents us from experiencing it again. One hit with the hammer should instill some wisdom about repeating mistakes. The apparent contradiction in US thought is not hard to figure out, if you look to the root of their beliefs. It is observable from their actions that Christianity represents war not peace. If the country really desires peace as the other half of the population suggests, then it would seem like good wisdom to change the root belief. Adjust Christianity so that it represents peace, and peace will be experienced. You cannot say you are for peace, while you are demonstrating war, except in your own mind. If you say that you are demonstrating Christian values, then war must be a Christian value. There is nothing right or wrong in what the Americans are demonstrating. It is clearing symbolic of how they see themselves and where they are along the evolutionary path. It is demonstrated by their actions, not by speculation or conjecture. Worthy of note in the election is that the Bible belt states, supports Bush. A ray of sunshine in the election results and cause for celebration is that almost half the nation voted for peace by voting against Bush. At least half the consciousness of the nation is for peace and it was demonstrated. With the exodus of Americans moving into Canada since the Vietnam War it is observable that some are moving away the mentality of war. War is a natural circumstance of mans evolution. Yet it will not be the warmongers that build the new world of peace. It will be the peacemakers that do not harbour the thoughts of war. Roy E. How to Stay Debt Free During The Gift Giving Season

By Dee Marie With the Christmas season rapidly approaching, you may be worrying about the financial impact of the gifts you will be giving. It is difficult to relax and enjoy the holiday season knowing that big bills will be coming in after the start of the new year. You can have a wonderful holiday season without spending too much money. A commitment to celebrate your holiday season in a debt-free fashion will bring much peace to your life when the New Year comes around. You will not need to worry about the credit card bills that will be coming due in January and February. Here are some ways you can give gifts without going into debt. 1. Make a detailed gift giving list including recipients name, gift, and budgeted amount. This way you can gain an overall picture of what you are going to spend. Then, vow to stick with the list and not go over the budget. If you spend more money on a gift than you have budgeted, then another gift will have to cost less than the amount you budgeted. Take your list with you whenever you go shopping and cross off the items as you purchase them. Remember, the goal is to celebrate the holidays with no debt. Avoid impulse purchases as they are usually not budget friendly. 2. To save money on gifts for children, shop for toys and games at consignment stores and garage sales. Many times you can find items that have never been used, are in their original packaging, and cost a fraction of what they would cost in the store. Games are always a great gift idea for children as they have long lasting value. 3. Save money on your gift giving by making your gifts. If you enjoy cooking, make up some pre-made baking kits like your special cookie recipe. Put it in a decorative jar and use fancy ribbon and bows to make the presentation look great and include a hand-written recipe card. If you sew make a handmade blanket or pillow. Even if you are not the crafty type, visit your local craft store and see what gift ideas they have featured. Some of them require very little in the way of expertise and can be made inexpensively. 4. Shop for gifts at your local dollar store and create a themed gift basket of the items you find. You could choose a bath theme gift basket and fill the basket with different toiletries; a toy gift basket made of an assortment of dollar toys; or even a Christmas gift basket filled with some of the Christmas merchandise. 5. Be on the lookout for sales and clearance items. The earlier you start shopping, the better your finds will be. Scan those sale ads every week and check the clearance aisles frequently. I look for kid dress up costumes after Halloween when they all go on sale for 75% off. With just a little bit of planning and the determination to stay on budget, you can enjoy a holiday season with no worries about debt in the New Year. Pure Seduction - How To Get The Men To Pursue You

By Christine Akiteng I have received many emails that when squeezed down to the juice are all asking the same thing - how do we get men to call us after what we thought was a great date and to answer the phone when we call the nth time asking him why we haven’t heard from him in a long time? How, how do we get men to pursue us? The truth is, I have been trying to avoid writing about this subject mainly because there are many confusing RULES on what women can do to become more successful with the male gender - and both extremes have large followings. On one hand we are told that men have a fragile ego that needs stroking until your paws go sore. We are told pouting your sweet lips puerile-like and aaahing and oohing his every move will increase his feelings for you. Never point out his mistakes or try to out smart him. Verbal attacks or contradicting him hurts his feelings, so veil sharp criticism into tender kittys purrrrs. Flirting with other men will make him jealous, and he might even walk out. In short, smile often, lie down and pretend to be dead and - oooohhh - remember to purr-rrrr every time he asks you if are still alive!. On the other hand we are told men pine after bitches poised as vixens who maintain their power, independence and autonomy by making men slave for their attention. And to be the bitch men queue to get her telephone number you must act aloof when he approaches you. Brush him off persistently. Dont show him how you feel - act like other things are more important than him. And when he calls you to postpone a date because he has some urgent business matter to attend to, tell him you already have another date anyway. In other words, play impossible to get, pretend that you do not like men and then they will come after you in droves.. Now, if I didnt know that a lot of this advice comes from either Prude Goodie-Two-Shoes who has such a low-self esteem that she re-arranges her whole life around a man and acts like his helpless appendage or from Cruella de Vil who has suffered many disappointments that she wants to get back at the male race for all her misfortunes, I would have thrown up my hands and found me another career, because if women really followed either approach, itd lead to misery for everybody concerned. Wed only have self-indulged mamas boys or those nagging losers after us. Worst of all, wed never find true love pretending to be who we are not. But again some women would rather take anything in pants than be all by themselves. I have women come to me time and again, desperate and confused as to why the guys they really like dont seem to pay them any attention and the ones they cant stand just dont want to go away. Theyve tried kitty purring and theyve tried playing impossible to get and the only thing still chasing them is their own shadow. What many women don’t know and men don’t tell us is that men love the illusion of being the hunters and are thrilled by the thought of chasing a real (or imagined) foxy woman. So to get the men to pursue you, you must have some sort of spin to your game plan. What that means is that even if you are a tender-hearted deer or can ram and butt like a buffalo but can put a spin to the chase, you are most likely be to perceived as game. And this foxy spin is universal in its appeal. It gives the sense of novelty or newness a code that seems to be pre-programmed in the male gene. A spin is different from tricks or deceitful acts. A spin is a playful act with a bit of mystery in it. It is a build up of intrigue; in which with every lingering look, every expression, every body move you make him wonder what makes you tick and what’s going on in your “sexy” head. Like when a guy comes up to me (how I make him come to me will be the subject of another article), he usually introduces himselfmy name is Denzel Washington (I like to fantasize), I shake his hand and say nice meeting you Denzel and stop at that. Hed then ask and what is your name? Playfully I ask what would you like it to be? Most guys are not ready for thisand I can literally see their testosterone level go up. Most of them laugh nervously, some even blush - those who can blush - and keep asking the same question. I just laugh and walk away foxy-like (notice I said “walk” away not “run’ away). For those of you who might not understand what a “foxy-walk” is, think Halle Berry in Cat Woman. Some follow me around and from their body language I can read that they are thinking this is going to be interesting. Others laugh, hang around a while and then go to mingle and meet other women. I have had guys go away and come back to ask for my name. And they can do this at intervals the whole evening. If I really like a guy, I will in the course of the evening accidentally bump into him. And if he is interested he will ask for my name again. This time I ask him to call me anything that comes to his mind. Whatever he calls me, I smile and say Thank you, from now on my name is Mystery or whatever name he gives me and again walk away - foxy-like. I have had guys steal up behind my back and call me by the name they gave meand I am always alertI promptly answer like it has been my name all my life Once I met my match (or he thought he was). He sort of had my “number” because he was pressing all the right buttons. I found his direct, saucy and self-confident ways rather very seductive. This 40 - something white man reminded me of the boys in my native village - the primal cockiness and self-confidence I am yet to see anywhere else in the world. Their every look, word, touch and every breath is so alive with erotic electricity and without saying a word they pay your whole body compliments, ask questions just with eye expression alone. Their “come and get me” stubbornness can be irritating but at the same time you feel the tagging on your heart-strings and before you know it they got you hooked on that you forget they can’t even read or write let alone recite the alphabet. How many men do you know can make you feel like a sex goddess and ravish you with just they eyes alone, Hmmm? Anyways, my evening’s heartthrob suddenly vanished and for the rest of the evening, ignored me. When I was just about to leave (I am sure he was watching me how else would he have known I was planning to leave…) he came and asked for my telephone number. I gave him a piercing look then said Okay, even if you ignored me the whole evening - and by the way that really hurt, I will give you my number because you look like a lot of fun. See, the message I was passing on was “I am also a lot of fun and you you have no idea what you are missing”. I wrote my number on a blank card I dont give guys I am interested in my business card because when they read Dating Coach, they will never call, so I always have a nice set of blank cards. He took the card and turned to go. And as he walked away, I called him and in a matter of fact said Sean, the best time to call me is between 10 pm and midnight my work day doesn’t finish until about 10 p.m.. He nodded. But it was obvious to me he was the kind of man who wanted to be in control and didnt like a woman telling him when to call her. So I said if a man picks up the phone, please just tell him that we met today ( I had a male friend visiting from out of town). He walked back and asked Do you have a boyfriend? To which I replied Call me, winked and I left. He called me that very night. He wanted to know if I had a boyfriend and by the way he said what is your name? Forget about THE RULES that only over-complicate everything. The real fact of the matter is that guys want women who can be down-to-earth, genuine and original. Women who are bold, assertive and flirtatious. They want the chase as much as they want the woman and they still want the chase to continue even when hes married you. And if you want to keep his interest you must remain the woman he was chasing in the first place. Spins dont have to be just for getting attention. If there is a connection and the relationship moves forward, come up with other new spins which feel natural and compliment your personality. Spin’s got to be new and fresh every time - and mysterious - leaving the rest up to his imagination because if your man isnt challenged enough, he will go find the challenge elsewhere. When a man meets a woman he automatically imagines what life with her would be like. A spin gives men the mystery and challenge which for most of them (unfortunately for us women who want to be appreciated for more, like our emotional and spiritual strengths) means a woman who they can bond with mentally and sexually. I don’t want to disappoint my “sisters of the move” but on a first or second meeting it is really hard to tell your emotional or spiritual strengths by just looking or talking for a few minutes and if you keep forcing it down their throats you are yesterdays toast. Bottom line is that men are first attracted to women who are uninhibited and look like they love fun just as much as they do. And the way they tell that is by how a woman “advertises’ her potential….cute, fun, smart, fun, self-confident, fun, sexy, fun, caring, fun… you get the picture . A woman who is so stuck-up is every man’s nightmare, even for those guys who themselves are uptight. And don’t paint the whole picture for him, it takes out the mystery and turns him off instead of on. There are more than a thousand ways for a woman to show that she can rock a mans world without resorting to cheap selling or aggressive marketing. The other thing that turns men off is excessive concern over details or trivial matters - stop sweating the small stuff and look at the big picture. Do you want a man who loves you unconditionally or do you want a bunch of roses that wither away only after a couple of days? Hello? If you can get both wonderful, but if you have to choose, my dear sister, choose the man! But what probably turns men off most is showing a desperate need for attention and affection. We women are born natural therapists but men are not. If you are the kind of woman who needs someone every now and then to listen to how bad your cellulite is or why your cat only eats cereal, get yourself a good set of girlfriends or call your mama or sister if you have oneand for Gods sake get yourself a life. Dont pretend to have one just to get him to chase you, but a real life, a career, a hobby or volunteer at a childrens organization or elderly peoples home, so that when the phone rings you dont drop everything else to go suck up to a guy and then wonder why the guys you really like dont like you and the ones who dont do a thing for you linger around like cheap perfume. Girlfriend, my advice to all women is, if he is in sight and the day is right, don’t wait for him to come to you, take matters into your hands and hunt him down - BUT remember men like the illusion of being the hunter, don’t deprive them of their chance to do their hunting. You and I know too well, in the end the hunter gets captured by the game. And just in case you are interested … this “spin” thingy works magic in the bedroom too… About the Author: Combining modern and ancient wisdom, internationally renowned Sexual Confidence and Dating Coach, Christine Akiteng has helped hundreds rediscover their many untapped and unique deep-down NATURAL and PRIMAL characteristics that make them incredibly attractive, desired and valued by the opposite sex. Wedding Planning Advice for a Second Wedding

By Erica Fleisch By now you have figured out it’s not about the wedding reception, flowers, dresses, tuxedos, etc…, but about the person you are going to spend the rest of your life with. If you are certain of this then wedding planning should be an enjoyable experience. Here are some quick tips that we discovered when planning our wedding: Budget Since this is a second wedding, most parents have already done their fair share once before. Therefore they will probably not be contributing financially to your special day. In many cases, this should be perceived as a good thing as the only opinions that should count are the bride and groom. Most couples by now realize that the cost of a wedding could be the down payment on a new home. Make sure to set a realistic budget! Wedding Supplies We found that using the internet to order all of our wedding favors and supplies alleviated a lot of unnecessary stress. We were able to shop at our convenience and have the packages delivered to the location of our choice. Ordering from one website may alleviate some of your concerns and possibly reduce your shipping costs. Bridal Party Limit the number of bridal attendants. Let all of your bridal attendants know what color you have selected, and let them pick a dress of their choice that is flattering to them. This will alleviate the pressure of picking the perfect dress for everyone’s figure. Out-of Town Guests If you plan on inviting many out of town guests, choose a month that is climate favorable to all. This will make traveling and attending your wedding a lot less stressful. In addition, choose to get married in a hotel which can accommodate the wedding ceremony, reception, and accommodations for your guests. Children Many second weddings occur when we are a little older and many of our friends now have children. If your wedding is going to be in the evening and children are not invited, try to arrange for babysitters for out of town guests. Hopefully these wedding tips will help alleviate some of the stress you may be feeling. Remember, keep it simple. Sometimes less can be more! Don’t forget to take time for yourself and relax. Don’t stress too much over this one day. You have found your life partner and you will have many years of happy days to come! Erica Fleisch is the SVP of Product Development for Wedding Shop USA. Is Acupuncture Right for Me?

By Michael Roland Acupuncture has been part of healthcare for millions of people over thousands of years. At a time when the population of the Western world still thought that personal hygiene would make you ill, China had a very sophisticated medical system, which included acupuncture as a primary mode of treatment. Thankfully we are now catching on and recently modern scientific standards have been applied to assessing the effectiveness of acupuncture in a way acceptable to the Western world. Despite this apparent progress, there is still a fair amount of controversy regarding the effectiveness of acupuncture and what standards of proof should be applied. After considerable research, the Nation Institutes of Health (NIH) and The World Health Organization (WHO) have released statements regarding the effectiveness of acupuncture. In their 1997 Consensus Development Statement, the NIH stated that acupuncture may be useful as an adjunctive or alternative treatment for stroke, headache, tennis elbow, post-op nausea and vomiting, osteoarthritis, the effects of chemotherapy and other conditions. Also in the 2003 Acupuncture Review and Analysis of reports on controlled clinical trials, WHO published a list of over 100 conditions for which acupuncture may be useful. So, the above facts translate into comforting news from some of our medical scientists and researchers. On a more personal and practical level, I can attest that after over a decade of clinical experience, that I have used acupuncture to give relief to my patients, who collectively have presented a wide variety of ailments, too numerous to mention in this article. In general, if you are experiencing pain, mild anxiety or depression, digestive issues or fatigue, its very possible that acupuncture will afford you relief from your suffering. If your condition falls outside of these parameters or if you have any doubts, you should always discuss this with your chosen acupuncturist before any treatment takes place. If the professional in question has had success in treating your condition with other patients, you may feel comfortable to go ahead. In the event of this being a first time clinical treatment for the acupuncturist and you, its advisable to talk it over thoroughly and maybe make sure that the treatment plan suggested is acceptable both in terms of cost and length of treatment. OK, it works, but is acupuncture safe? In one word, YES! Acupuncture is safe. On rare occasions, some patients experience adverse reactions. About 1 in 1000 patients may experience slight bruising, temporary aggravation of symptoms, or dizziness. If you are on high doses of blood thinners or if your immune system is suppressed, you should discuss this with both your acupuncturist and with your physician. In conclusion I would like you to consider results of the following study. In a recent study of 34,000 acupuncture treatments reported in the British Medical Journal, only 43 minor adverse reactions were reported and NO serious adverse events were noted. In studies of commonly prescribed non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen and celebrex, the adverse reactions were significantly higher! In fact, acupuncture is safer than many over-the-counter remedies you can find at the drug store. Of course many of those remedies offer people significant relief for a variety of ailments and I am in no way suggesting that you should discontinue their use-to the contrary, good medicine strives to use the best help available at any given time to make and keep us healthy and pain free. However, having read the above facts, wouldnt you give acupuncture a chance? I know I would for me and mine. Good Luck and Good Health. Top Ways to Save on Wedding Invitations

By Michael Ferrell Some of the first things youll spend money on when you decide to get married (besides the ring) are the wedding invitations. While you want your invitations to be classy, unique and of good quality, youll probably also want to find ways to save on wedding invitations as well. Here are the top ways to send out invitations that you can affordand that your friends and family will be impressed with. Keep your guest list small. The more people you invite to your wedding, the more invitations youre going to have to send out, so take a little time to create a guest list that you and your spouse will be satisfied withand one that will fit your budget. Let your friends and family know when youll be getting married as soon as you can, so that they can tell you if theyll be able to make it. For those who wont be able to attend, you can send alternate invitations on different paper that may be a little less expensive, so that your loved ones can still keep a reminder of your special day. Now is not the time to be extremely politethis is your day, and you deserve to have the people you love at your ceremony. Just because people know that youre getting married, doesnt mean they all have to come to wedding. Remember, the more invitations you send out, the more people that will show up, the more reception dinners youll have to pay forand the list goes on. Keeping your guest list small will help you to save on other wedding costs as well, so choose wisely. Make your own invitations. If youre especially crafty or know exactly how you want your invitations to look (and havent seen this look in stores or online) you may want to consider making your invitations yourself. This way, you can save money, and add your own special touches to make an invitation that really is unique to your ceremony and your relationship. Of course, you may still have to ask for help, but if you need friends and family to give you pointers on the invitation design or provide supplies for you to use, you wont have to pay for labor. You can also be sure that no one will have your invitations, and this will be another way to give guests the impression that your wedding will be an event to remember. You can also look online for wedding invitation templates to follow if you want to keep things a little more traditional, or arent quite ready to try your hand at such a crafty task. Here are some sites that may help: www.southworth.com, www.yourinvitationplace.com, and www.theweddingplace.com. Use less paper. Your invitation doesnt have to be two or three pages; you can save the story of how you met for the wedding video or the wedding programs in order to cut costs. A single sheet invitation will usually save you money, and looks very classy and sophisticated. Over 50 and Starting To Sag - Fight Back with Isometric Exercise

By Ellen Miller As we age, the body and skin lose some of their natural elasticity and Mother Nature needs more help from us keep us looking our best. As we approach and pass age 50 we can fight a losing battle, with moisturizers and plastic surgery, or we can successfully fight the ravages of time with a natural cure that also helps us feel better: isometric exercise. Though the elasticity of the skin will continue to fade as we age, we can help offset the consequences by exercising the muscles underneath, keeping them lean and firm. Lean muscle burns calories very efficiently, helping us to maintain a shape much closer to that we had when we were younger. Reclaiming the lean muscle needed to do that, after years of neglect, can seem like a daunting task - but it doesn’t have to be. The small, repetitive movement in isometric exercises helps to energize our muscles and keep them at optimal performance levels. Isometrics works by using the body’s own natural resistance to create a smaller-scale resistance training that helps us to stay fit and firm as we age. The best news about isometric exercises - other than how well they work — is that they can be done almost anywhere, with little risk to your joints. Take one annoying sign of aging, for example - “baggy” upper arms. One simple way to fix that is with an isometric arm stretch. Simply extending the bicep and triceps, those upper arms muscles, and then releasing the stretch can greatly reduce, and often eliminate, that sagging. Try this: Extend your arms out completely in either direction for about a ten-count, palms up. Then, rotate your arms as far you can, moving your thumbs from the rear of the arm forward and then down. Hold this position for a ten-count and repeat throughout the course of the day. This simple stretch will help ease tension in your shoulders and fight that upper arm sag, helping you to look younger immediately. This type of isometric exercise can help you fight off the effects of a hard day and a few hard years, leaving you looking and feeling younger as your muscles regain some of their youthful firmness. No one has to just give up and give in to an aging body — you can fight it all the way and the fight doesn’t have to be strenuous or painful. A few simple contract and release exercises over the course of the day can lead to a healthier, happier you in no time. With longevity increasing, 50 can be “the new 30″ - it’s all within your control and your ability. All it takes are a few simple exercises every day to keep your muscles firm and lean. With isometric exercises, you may even be able to turn back the clock. Here are some tips. Know what you need. Most of the cellular phone features can be over the top, and if you just need a phone to make calls, you can do away with these features. Do not sign up for wireless Internet, for example, if you dont need to check your emails. The cellular phone company may charge you a few dollars monthly just for subscribing to special promos even if you dont use them, so do not sign up for discount long distance rates, if you rarely make them. Sticking to the basics can keep your cell phone deals cheap, so never subscribe to any service unless you absolutely need it. Get the most out of the cheapest deals. Why settle for an inferior phone if you can get more? Competition is forcing cellular phone companies to offer everything at low rates even their handhelds. Compare cheap cell phones before you buy any. Look at handy extras like conference call capability, call holding and barring, speakerphone, and a built-in FM radio or digital camera. The cheapest cell phone deals are still prepaid deals, which are great for students and other people who want to limit their monthly phone bills. Prepaid are much easier to manage you only use up what youve already paid for, so you dont risk big monthly bills. Prepaid packages also allow you to move from one cellular service provider to another without the hassle of paperwork.
