Who Cares What You Think

By Alice Seba “I hate pop-ups!” “Audio that starts on a website without warning is annoying.” “What’s with these 15-20 page sales letters that just go on and on? I would never buy anything from a site like that.” “I hate those websites that make me give their email address before giving me any information. When I see those, I click away immediately.” And the list of complaints goes on. If we hate these things, plus our website visitors and marketing peers tell us they hate these things, we should stop using them, right? Hold it right there. Basing your marketing decision completely on opinions and preferences is one of the biggest mistakes you can make. It doesn’t matter if it’s your opinion or if 10 people emailed you to tell you that your website annoys them. NEVER make a judgment based on an opinion. What we think and prefer has nothing to do with the RESULTS of our marketing. Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying to ignore your gut feelings or disregard your potential customers. I’m saying - test it out. We know everyone hates pop-ups, but the fact is they work when used effectively. Audio that starts when you visit a website can be highly irritating, but many website owners report increased conversions when they do just that. Long sales letters can be very effective when selling an individual product…just ask world-class copywriter Michel Fortin who has helped people sell millions online. I also know someone who runs a 7-figure yearly business and has switched all his websites to the name-squeeze (you know, those idiotic pages that ask for your name and email before giving you any info?)…and he makes more money now. Does this mean you must blindly use these “irritating techniques”? Nah…your business is unique and you need to base your decisions on cold hard facts (i.e. your testing data) so you can make more cold hard cash. How to Double Your Romance with One-Way Dates

By David Steele Over time, couples can easily develop routines that become ruts and it seems like romance goes out the window. Does this sound familiar? Partner #1: What do you want to do? Partner #2: I dont know, what do YOU want to do? Then they end up doing pretty much the same thing they have done before. Couples can also fall into compromise ruts, where each gives up what they really want to do in order to find something they can both agree upon. For example, in choosing movies, he might love action-adventure, she might love drama, and they might routinely compromise on comedies. After awhile, this might get old! (True story- happened to me!) Whats the alternative? How can couples keep their romance fresh and exciting? Try rotating the following four ONE-WAY DATES: TYPE 1: Partner #1 creates a romantic experience for partner #2 The purpose of this date is to give a gift and please partner #2 one hundred percent. This doesnt have to cost anything, and doesnt even require going anywhere, as long as the time and activities are creatively focused on what would please partner #2. TYPE 2: Switch; partner #2 creates a romantic experience for partner #1 TYPE 3: Partner #1 creates a self-centered romantic experience The purpose of this date is for partner #1 to please themselves 100%, to have romance exactly the way they want, sharing the experience with partner #2 in the way they wish, but not worrying about partner #2s experience at all. TYPE 4: Switch; partner #2 creates a self-centered romantic experience To work, this requires planning and coordination. I suggest couples plan their dates and one-way types on a calendar a year in advance. This may sacrifice the spontaneity that some prefer but often cant sustain, for intentionality that can continue to create romantic closeness and excitement for decades to come. I have found that trying to reach agreement on everything can hinder creativity and dilute the possibilities. Using these One-Way Dates allows for each partner to freely and creatively choose activities that would truly please themselves or their partner, without eliminating exciting choices trying to please both. ONE-WAY DECISION MAKING As much as we value mutuality and agreement, wouldnt it be nice to get your way sometimes, even when your partner disagrees? Similar to the One Way Date is the GIMME. A Gimme is a request one partner makes of another, when there is something they would really like to have or do that the partner disagrees with. Lets say that partner #1 really wants to go to the opera, but partner #2 hates the opera. Partner #1 really wants to go, but doesnt want to go alone or with someone else, they want to go with their partner! Partner #1 could ask for a gimme which means please do this as a gift for me, not because you agree or want to, but give this to me because you love me and want me to be happy. Ground rules: - A gimme is not asked for lightly or often - When asked for a gimme, try your best to say Yes - When delivering a gimme, do so with a positive attitude - The gimme is a gift, delivered with unconditional love, without expectation of a quid pro quo Sometimes in a relationship, ONE way is the BEST way! Using Testimonials - It’s About Branding!

By Brian McElroy Building up a presence online in many ways reflects doing business offline. Thought branding was just for McDonalds and Starbucks? No way! Online companies have to go through the same process of branding their image in order to have a long-standing place in the market. The methods are different, but the results are just the same- long-term customers and a healthier bottom line! Branding is basically the collection of images and ideas that customers have about you and your business. That incorporates concrete symbols such as your brand name, logo, slogan, and all aspects of your design. But it also extends to symbolic attitudes like what people associate with your business, and what kind of expectations they have of you and your work. How past, present, and future customers feel about your company is directly relevant to your ability to sustain whatever edge you have against your competition, so this is not to be neglected. Since there is no Main Street in cyberspace, your brand and how people regard you is really all youve got. Building up a brand and developing a sense of trust is hard work and takes time… but dont worry, there are many time-tested proven techniques that will set you on the right path immediately! You can start by giving your visitors a pleasing experience right from the moment they enter your site. Quality graphics, easy to understand navigation, and highly relevant content all go a long way towards drawing your visitor in and keeping them at your site for an extended period of time. Simple things like having a sitemap, clearly displaying a link to your privacy policy, and having your contact information available at all times can all have a positive effect on your website. When you go the extra mile to make your website user friendly, it helps shape your visitors’ opinion of your brand. Of course, it doesn’t end there! The testimonials you display are a tangible indication of what kind of shop you are running. Are they well-written, emotional, and written from the heart? Do they include the person’s full name, home town, website, and photo? What about a few audio and video testimonials? Or do they seem fake, unoriginal, and not believable? These basic elements can mean the difference between a sale and a lost visitor. Choose your testimonials and presentation wisely, your brand depends on it! Brian D. Stop Wasting Money on Dryer Sheets

By William Shreddington Never buy dryer sheets or fabric softener again. These laundry products are not only costly, but they are incredibly harmful to your health as well. You would be surprised at some of the chemicals that are in these products as well as the warnings to go with them. Although they may make your clothes feel soft and smell fresh, dryer sheets are one of the most toxic products in your home. They are filled with so many chemicals that they have to be scented with an incredible amount of fragrance. If the sweet smelling fragrance was removed, there would only be a noxious chemical smell remaining. Some of the chemicals that are contained in dryer sheets are Benzyl acetate(linked to pancreatic cancer), Benzyl Alcohol(respiratory irritant), Ethanol(linked to central nervous system disorders), Limonene(carcinogen), A-Terpineol(respiratory irritant and damaging to central nervous system), Ethyl Acetate(narcotic), Camphor(central nervous system damage), Chloroform(neurotoxin, anesthetic), Linalool(central nervous system damage), and Pentane(respiratory irritant). Some of the symptoms experienced from prolonged exposure to the chemicals in dryer sheets include: headaches, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, central nervous system disorders, blood pressure reduction, tiredness that is not cured by resting, difficulty breathing, skin irritation, difficulty concentrating and remembering, and cancer. People with allergies are especially susceptible to the dangers of dryer sheets and fabric softeners. These people can break out in rashes and experience itching if they are exposed to the chemicals in dryer sheets in any capacity. Im no expert, but if it causes trauma to a sensitive person , on contact, then it cant be all that good for the rest of us. Babies are also easily harmed by dryer sheets. It is recommended that baby clothes do not get washed with fabric softeners or dryer sheets as it can be harmful or even fatal for developing babies. There a number of cases of SIDS associated with the use of fabric softeners and dryer sheets. You are also contributing to pollution and ozone depletion whenever you pop a dryer sheet in your dryer. Various toxic chemicals are being emitted into the air through you dryer vent. Dryer sheets leave an oil coating on your clothes, which dont really leave them softer or fluffy. This oil builds up on the fibers and takes the absorbency out (oil repels water). They are designed to slowly release their chemicals, in the attempt to keep them fresh all day. In reality, they are causing you to experience prolonged exposure to toxic chemicals. In the dryer, fabric softener leaves a sticky residue on all the components like the moisture sensors and drum of the dryer. This residue is very flammable, which is why on the back of some fabric softeners it tells you not to use on towels, terrycloth or fleece. The number one cause of house fires is the dryer. Fabric softeners even take the fire retardant out of babys clothes. SoStop Buying Dryer Sheets and try Dryer Magic Dryer Balls. These dryer balls are completely non-toxic and chemical free. Religion Equals War

By Charles Sabillon Right now, the West is at war with the Muslim world because the two cultures practice different religions. However, this is not the first time that such bloodshed has taken place. The first large scale confrontation took place in the eighth century when Arab armies invaded Spain and Portugal. That war went on for almost 800 years until the last Muslims were spelled from the Iberian Peninsula in 1492. On this occasion the Muslims were convinced that their God was commanding them to spread their faith throughout the world, and doing it by the sword was a good thing. The second took place during The Crusades, which lasted from the late eleventh century (1096) to the mid thirteenth, as Christian armies invaded the Near East. On this occasion there was a growing penetration of Muslim armies into the fringes of southeastern Europe, which presented a number of financial and political problems for the Vatican. To counter that risk, the Pope mobilized the armies of Europe into action. The third took place from the sixteenth century to the eighteenth as the Ottoman Turks conquered much of southeastern Europe. Once again the Muslims were convinced that their God wanted that they spread His message into those regions and the Christians were certain that their God did not want any of that. The fourth took place in the nineteenth and twentieth century, as Europe subdued most of the Muslim world. On this occasion, the West had grown smarter and was no longer basing every decision on the word of God, but Europeans nonetheless evangelized the conquered cultures with their gospel. And now in the twenty-first century, we are it again in many parts of the globe such as New York in 2001, Afghanistan and Iraq. In each one of those conflicts there have been thousands, if not millions of dead soldiers, raped women, crippled combatants, injured civilians, and traumatized children. The current war between Muslims and Christians is not the only religious confrontation which is at present inflicting suffering on countless people. There is an on-and-off conflict between Hindu India and Muslim Pakistan that started since the partition of British India in 1947 and has delivered three wars. There is also the civil war in Sri Lanka between Buddhist and Hindus, the one in Palestine between Muslims and Jews, as well as many others. Not to mention the warring among people of the same creed as in Sunni Muslims against Shiite Muslims and as in Protestants against Catholics. The truth of the matter is that all of those people suffered for nothing. If there would be a God like the one that those religions claim, none of those wars would have ever taken place and nobody would have ever suffered. What history shows is that either God is evil and is incessantly driving people into war by deliberate manipulation, or he wishes the best for everybody but he is incompetent and can not do a thing right. Either way, it is clear that it is irrational to believe in such a being or to fight for Him. There is of course, a third possibility and it is that God does not exist and people should therefore stop wasting their energies and lives in fighting for religions that are full of lies. There is not the slightest shred of scientific or historic credibility in any of those religions. Nothing gives credence to the claim that Jesus, Mohammed, Buddha, or any other of those so called prophets or sons of God had a divine mandate. Charles Sabillon has undergraduate degrees in Philosophy, Economics and Law plus a masters and a doctorate in International Relations. He also completed post-doctoral research in the fields of History, Economics, and Ecology. He speaks fluently English, Spanish, French and German. http://store.fultus.com/product_info.php?products_id=139 http://www.authorsden.com/charlesasabillon http://www.geocities.com/sabilloncarlos/ Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Charles_Sabillon http://EzineArticles.com/?Religion-Equals-War&id=369125 what is a short term mortgage loan uk payday loans no faxing pay day loans nampa idaho hard money quick close loans

What Men Want From Women

By Bob Grant Actually, its pretty simple. Deep inside the heart of every man is a secret wish to be trusted. How many times have men said to their wives, If you would just trust me. Many men wonder why it seems so difficult for their wives to do something so seemingly simple. The answer stems from the physiological differences between the sexes. It begins at birth when little boys are given a distinct physical advantage over little girls by having higher levels of testosterone. With testosterone comes the physical strength to both defend themselves from danger and/or run away from a threat. Most little girls dont have that ability. They dont have the strength to defend themselves in a physically fight when they feel threatened. If a boy trusts someone who in turn hurts them, they can always defend themselves physically (or try to). Little girls dont have that physical option of power. Since a person can only trust from a position of strength, those same little girls will grow up into women who naturally have a more difficult time trusting when they feel vulnerable. So men, when you ask the woman of your choice to simply trust you, its not that she cant, shes just more vulnerable than you. If you want her to trust you, she needs something that will help develop that trust. Perhaps even a tool or gesture that she can count on until that trust with you is established. Thankfully this tool already exist and is known every woman. What cultivates trust in a woman is a man who consistently keeps his word. Making a promise is meaningless if there is no follow through. A woman needs to SEE her man fulfill his promises because seeing is always more powerful than hearing. Allow me to illustrate. Imagine someone told you that I was the meanest person they had ever met. For months all you heard was how terrible I treated my family and friends. Then one day you met me and during the course of our meeting you begin to notice that I didnt seem to be as horrible as you were led to believe. I actually appeared to be rather pleasant. Would you change your entire opinion about me from one visit? Probably not! However, if you saw me respond consistently with kindness and humility over a period of weeks, your opinion of me would begin to change. A paradox has just been established. The kindness you have seen in me for the last few weeks does not match what you have heard about me. All the rumors of how mean I am begin to fade into darkness because of my consistent actions. Over time what you see will replace most if not all of your concerns about my character. Men, when the woman you love sees your words lining up with your actions, trust will naturally follow. When you dont keep your word it causes your wife/girlfriend to become fearful. From her perspective, she has entrusted you with her Heart and WANTS to trust you. She simply needs your help in giving you what you want. War in Heaven

By Mike Bradley This next event, a war in heaven, will not be able to be seen with the naked eye by the people still left on the earth as the 7 year Tribulation starts to unfold. What happens in this next incredible event is that Satan and his angels are cast out of “heaven” and cast down onto the earth by St. Michael and his army of angels. There will literally be a war in the “heavens” between Gods angels and the Devil and his fallen angels. To really understand what is happening with this war in heaven, you need to know that there are apparently three “heavens.” The apostle Paul says that he was taken up to the third heaven - Paradise, where I believe he encountered Jesus and possibly God the Father. He says he does not know if he was in his body or out of his body when he had this experience. Here is the verse: “It is doubtless not profitable for me to boast. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord: I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago - whether in the body I do not know, or whether out of the body I do not know, God knows - such a one was caught up to the third heaven. And I know such a man - whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows - how he was caught up into paradise and heard inexpressible words, which is not lawful for a man to utter.” (2 Corinthians 12:1-4) Many believe that Paul was talking about himself - that he was the one who had the experience. If this verse is telling us that there is a third Heaven, then there must be a first Heaven and a second Heaven. If God and Jesus live in the third Heaven, then the first Heaven has to be our earth. The second heaven then has to be the “air” or the atmosphere between heaven and our earth. Satan is called the prince of the power of the “air” in the Bible. This is where he and his demons live and roam in. I believe Satan and his fallen angels were cast out of the third Heaven where God and Jesus live long before we humans were ever created. Satan had rebelled against God before we were created and thus was cast out of the third Heaven down into the second Heaven - the Air. The Bible calls Satan the “prince of the power of the AIR.” Here is the verse that specifically tells us this: “And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience.” (Ephesians 2:1-2) Satan is not confined to the bottomless pit or the lake of fire and brimstone at this time. He is free to roam in the “air” until Jesus comes back for His second coming. After Jesus comes back, Satan is then thrown into the bottomless pit for a 1000 years and then eventually into the lake of fire and brimstone at the end of the 1000 Millennium Kingdom. What happens in this event is that Satan is cast from the second heaven down to the first heaven - which is the earth. The Bible says he really gets mad when this event occurs because he knows he has but little time left before Jesus comes back for His second coming to throw him into the bottomless pit. The Bible then says woe to the people still left on the earth when this event happens - for Satan will then start to release his wrath upon the earth! He first goes after the Jewish people, but God will provide protection for 1/3 of the Jews so he wont be able to kill all of them. The Bible then says that he will then turn his attention to the rest of Gods people - the saints in Christ - and this is where you get the 42 months that Gods saints will allowed to be given into the hand of the Devil and the Antichrist for persecution. The war in heaven will probably occur right around the midpoint of the Tribulation. This event may also explain why the Antichrist, all of a sudden in the middle of the Tribulation, breaks off his peace treaty with the Jews and proceeds to sit himself in the Jewish Temple proclaiming himself to be God - and then starts the mass persecution of the Jewish people and Gods saints. Some people actually think Satan himself may possess the Antichrist at this time since he has now been officially cast down onto the earth. Why would God cast the Devil out of the second heaven? Why not just wait till His Son comes back and then cast him into the bottomless pit from the second heaven? I believe that when Jesus comes back the second time, He will start His descension from the third Heaven where He now resides. He will then pass through the second heaven and then land on the first heaven - our earth at the Mount of Olives. I believe God may want the second Heaven cleaned out from Satan and his demons before His Son starts to descend from the third Heaven. The Bible says that Gods saints will be coming back with Jesus when He comes back the second time. If Jesus and all of Gods saints are coming together at one time for this event, I believe God may want the second Heaven free and clear of any demons in this middle realm. Satan will obviously know this when he is cast down onto the earth, and the Bible even says from this point on, he knows his time is short and that is why he becomes so furious. Satan will thus have the last three and half years to wreak as much havoc as he can through the Antichrist and False Prophet before Jesus comes back and finally puts an end to his reign of terror. I really feel that God is going to give all of us an incredible history lesson when we see what happens when Satan “merges” with the Antichrist and False Prophet to cause as much destruction as they possibly can for the last three and half years - especially if the Church has already been raptured out before all of this begins to take place. Without God and His Church in the “big picture,” - man, in union with Satan and his fallen angels, will wreak nothing but pure havoc and destruction on a mass scale to a degree that no man would have ever thought was possible. For all those who think that man is basically “good,” and that we dont need God in our lives, and that we are all capable of creating paradise on our earth through our own efforts - these people will be shown first hand what will happen when the earth is left in the hands of humans under the influence of Satan and all of his demons. The result will end up being mass chaos and total destruction to a degree that the world has never seen before and will never see again! Jesus Himself said that had these days not been shortened by God the Father Himself, that no flesh would survive this horrible time of trouble. The Scripture Verse Here is the verse from Scripture that tells us exactly what will happen with this event. “And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. So the great dragon who was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down … Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them!Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the Devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time. Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child. But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent. So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” (Revelations 12: 7-17) The “woman” mentioned in the above verse is Israel. The “male child” that the woman had given birth to is Jesus. Notice that the “woman” Israel is given under the protection of a “great eagle” after Satan is cast down upon the earth. This protection is for a time and times and half of a time. We already know that this stands for three and half years from the prophecy of Daniel already talked about in one of my earlier end time articles. So we know that this is referring to the last three and half years of the Tribulation. As I stated in my article titled, “Basic Overview of Main End Time Event”, some people think that this “great eagle” may be the United States since we have the national symbol of an eagle. Our country is already on good terms with Israel and we obviously would be the most natural choice to protect Israel if we are still considered a super power and not under the control of the Antichrist at this time. Now that Satan, the Antichrist and False Prophet are given incredible authority and power to carry out this unholy reign of terror for three and half years, how does God go about getting anyone saved during these last days if the Church and His main body of believers have already been raptured out? For this answer, go to the next article titled “God’s 4 Avenues to Reach the Lost During the Tribulation.” God will arrange for an incredible counterbalance to take place during this time of trouble in an effort to get as many people saved as He possibly can. Bobbing for Balloons: Kids Craft for a Kids Party

By Jewel Goodwin Have you ever bobbed for apples? Do you remember how much fun it was? Do you remember how messy it was? Have you thought about how unhygienic it might be for a bunch of kids to stick their faces in the same bin of water? The good news is, there is an alternative. Bobbing for balloons can be just as fun without the mess, and without passing around a cold or flu. You will need: Several long strips of coloured paper, approximately 6 inches wide (for making headbands) Packing tape Theme items to decorate the headbands (cut ours, streamers, ribbons, stickers, or more) Glue sticks Several inflated balloons (not helium) Large laundry bin or other large bin Fill the bin with the inflated balloons. Have an adult measure the size of each childs head, and make a strip of paper long enough to go around the head with two to three inches of overlap for fastening. Depending on what size of paper you started with, you may need to tape two strips together to make them long enough. Each child then decorates their headband as they see fit. The adult then attaches the ends of the headband so the child can wear it. When each child has their headband ready, have them line up in front of the bin filled with balloons. Attached a circle of tape turned inside out to the front of each childs headband. Make it a big circle for the younger kids, so it will be easier, and a smaller circle for the older kids to create a challenge. Each child gets a turn bobbing for a balloon in the bin. This involves dipping their head in and trying to stick a balloon to the circle of tape on the headband. No hands can be used. Kids will love this game, and want to play it again and again! They also get to take their headband home with them as part of their party favours for the day. Jewel Goodwin is a mother of two and an avid crafter.
